Linear systems and inequalities
Solving systems algebraically and graphically, and interpreting solutions in context. Graphical interpretation is where students who can solve algebraically still lose points.
Functions and their representations
Function notation, domain and range, rate of change, and moving between tables, graphs and equations of the same relationship.
Data analysis
Measures of centre and spread, data displays, scatterplots and lines of best fit. Frequently the least-practised area and a reliable source of accessible marks.

2x^2 - 10x + 3x - 15 combines to 2x^2 - 7x - 15.
3. y = 6 - (3/4)x
4y = 24 - 3x, then divide every term by 4.
4. y = 3x - 1
Point-slope gives y - 2 = 3(x - 1), so y = 3x - 3 + 2 = 3x - 1.
