Inequality

Definition
An inequality is a mathematical statement comparing two expressions using inequality symbols: < (less than), > (greater than), ≤ (less than or equal to), ≥ (greater than or equal to), or ≠ (not equal to).
💡Example
x > 5 means x is greater than 5 (x could be 6, 7, 100, etc.). 2x + 1 ≤ 9 can be solved: 2x ≤ 8, so x ≤ 4. Unlike equations, inequalities often have infinite solutions.
