Definition
An equation is a mathematical statement showing that two expressions are equal, connected by an equals sign (=). Equations can be solved to find the value of unknown variables.
💡Example
2x + 3 = 11 is an equation. To solve: subtract 3 → 2x = 8, divide by 2 → x = 4. Check: 2(4) + 3 = 11 ✓
