Intercept

Definition

An intercept is where a line or curve crosses an axis. The y-intercept is where it crosses the y-axis (where x = 0). The x-intercept is where it crosses the x-axis (where y = 0).

💡Example

For y = 2x + 3: The y-intercept is 3 (point (0, 3) where the line crosses the y-axis). The x-intercept is -1.5 (point (-1.5, 0) where y = 0).
